Welcome to the Ghana Pavilion!

Ghana is a rich and beautiful African country that lies along the west coast of the African continent.
Ghana’s capital Accra lies on the coast, where the national animal, the tawny eagle resides as well. Ghana is well known for its gold, oil, and cocoa, where it is one of the world’s top producers. Ghana is also well known for jollof rice, a popular West African dish that consists of spiced rice, tomatoes, onions, and peppers. Alongside this, yams which are a consistent staple, are used consistently in Ghanaian cuisine, such as stews, fried, or boiled.
Ghana’s performing arts also take a center stage in the country as well. Drums and drumming are at the heart of Ghanaian culture, and are the foundation for many musical genres such as Afrobeats, and hiplife.
We look forward to welcoming you at Folkfest!
