Hjertelig velkommen!

 (Heartfelt Welcome!)

Norway has over 1000 fjords, which are deep sea inlets that glaciers have craved into the land. Norway’s majestic sky is also regularly filled with the Northern Lights, or the Aurora Borealis – stunning red, green, blue & purple colours that flash across the night sky.

Norway is the traditional home of the vikings, and is the home of the creation of skiing, which is a translation from Old Norse word skíð, meaning “split wood.” Because of this, Norway’s national sport is cross-country skiing, in which it holds the most olympic gold medals in the world.  Alongside this, Norway is one of the highest ranked in the world for a happiness index according to the UN. Norway’s cuisine consists of dried fish, reindeer, lamb, and potatoes.

Come experience a taste of Norwegian culture at the Norway Pavilion in Folkfest!

Takk!
