Volunteering for Folkfest is a great way to meet new people, celebrate diversity, and have a memorable and rewarding summer. 

Explore your own culture or a new one, all are welcome!

Folkfest 2025 – Kaleidoscope of Culture will take place on August 15th and 16th.

Volunteer shifts are also available on the 14th and 17th to assist with setup and takedown.

Table Turnover: Volunteers will assist in setting and sanitizing tables. This role is ideal for those who love working with and meeting new people and enjoy a moderate to fast-paced environment

Scanning & Wristbands: Volunteers will scan QR codes, provide wristbands, and check for patron wristbands at pavilion entrances. This role is ideal for tech-savvy individuals with access to a smartphone and a preference for a fast-paced environment. Mandatory Training session and familiarity with technology required.

People Flow: Volunteers will assist patrons in navigating to pavilions, bus stops, and bathrooms; this role is ideal for individuals who enjoy being on their feet and guiding others.

Traffic Control: Volunteers will assist patrons and VIPs in navigating to the bus and parking areas outdoors and directing the flow of traffic. This role is ideal for those who enjoy being outdoors, guiding people, and being on their feet.

Volunteer Check-in: Volunteers will sign in fellow volunteers, direct them to their designated areas, and assist with People Flow as necessary; this role is ideal for those who enjoy interacting with new people and appreciate organizational tasks. 

Cultural Activity Station: Volunteers will assist with hands-on activities; great if you love interacting with new people, enjoy a high-energy crowd, and enjoy artistic activities.

Bus Tour Guide: Volunteers will answer patron’s questions and provide information while riding a Folkfest route; great if you like interacting with others, and learning more about Folkfest. Mandatory training session required.

Floaters: The perfect position for volunteers happy doing almost any task and comfortable changing areas and may work indoors or outdoors; great if you enjoy flexibility and mobility.

Set Up: Volunteers will help with setting up equipment as well as creating and hanging signage and other organizational tasks; great if you can lift 50+lbs and enjoy organizing in an even-paced environment. Will include moderate lifting.

Take Down: Volunteers will help by taking down equipment and other organizational tasks; great if you can lift 50+lbs and enjoy organizing in an even-paced environment. Will include moderate lifting.

Food Service: Volunteers will help serve food to patrons and act as a cashier; great if you enjoy exploring culturally diverse food while working as a cashier in a fast-paced environment.

ePassport Sales: Volunteers will assist patrons with ePassport sales using a smartdevice, handle cash, debit and credit transactions and provide festival information to patrons; great if you are tech savy and enjoy a fast-paced environment. Mandatory training session & proficiency with money-handling and technology required.

Alcohol Service: Volunteers will serve alcoholic beverages to patrons who they have ID’d; great if you are comfortable working with alcohol and love working in a fast-paced environment where you meet new people. Must be 19+.
